Check out a preview of Allan’s TED talk in the video above in which he reviews the effects of desertification on earth and civilizations and the failure of current approaches to stop desertification.

Launched by Richard Branson in February 2007, the Virgin Earth Challenge is a $25 million initiative for ways of taking greenhouse gases out of the atmosphere and keeping them out with no countervailing impacts.
